Nival is the fully in-house 3D engine built by Russian studio Nival (Astrum Nival) specifically for the MMORPG Allods Online. All character animation in the game was motion-captured, and the engine itself was, at the time, one of the largest technology investments in Russian gaming industry history, with a project budget of roughly $12 million.
