Turbine Engine (also known as Turbine G3) is the proprietary technology of American studio Turbine, Inc., with roots tracing back to Asheron's Call (1999). The engine powers Dungeons & Dragons Online and The Lord of the Rings Online, where it's been continuously refined for over a decade — eventually supporting massive "epic" battle scenarios like the Battle of Helm's Deep, added in the Helm's Deep expansion.
