Diablo IV doesn't ask for high-end hardware even at the low end โ it launched day-one on last-gen consoles, and the PC spec sheet inherits that same modest floor. What's notable three years and two expansions later is that Blizzard's published numbers haven't moved, even though the map and the on-screen effect density have both grown substantially since 2023.
CPU requirements barely shift between the minimum and recommended tiers, and that's a byproduct of the game's always-online design: even a fully solo playthrough is constantly syncing character position and world state with a server, not just computing damage numbers locally. That's why an old quad-core i5 still clears the minimum bar today, but it's also exactly what bottlenecks first once a Helltide or world boss pulls dozens of players into one screen.
VRAM climbs from 2โ3GB at minimum to 4GB at recommended, and it stays that low in part because a chunk of Sanctuary's environmental detail is generated procedurally rather than baked into high-resolution texture files. That gap widens noticeably once you go past the recommended tier โ enabling the optional high-resolution texture pack or ray tracing pushes VRAM demand considerably further.
The 90GB install size is driven mostly by voice acting rather than textures โ the game ships with several full language dubs bundled in, Russian included, and those audio files account for more of the footprint than anything graphical.
Blizzard hasn't republished revised system requirements since the base game's 2023 launch, and there's no separate official spec covering the added load from Vessel of Hatred or Lord of Hatred content. The game's Steam Deck Verified status is a useful real-world signal here โ it confirms the minimum configuration above genuinely holds up on low settings rather than being an optimistic floor.
