Lord of Mysteries isn't a mobile-first game that happened to get a PC port โ it's a native Unreal Engine 5 MMORPG built around a seamless, walkable open world, real-time action combat, and Beyonder powers that layer particle effects and lighting tricks on top of every fight. That combination pushes the hardware bar higher than the turn-based or auto-battle gacha games that dominate the same "collect and progress" genre space, and each requirement tier below maps to a specific piece of what the beta builds are actually doing.
Tingen City is described by SPARK NEXA as a fog-choked, gaslit Victorian streetscape rendered continuously rather than loaded screen-by-screen, and Unreal Engine 5's lighting and particle systems are what sell that atmosphere โ rolling fog, wet cobblestone reflections, and the glow of Beyonder rituals all read as real-time lighting work, not pre-baked backdrops. Stack a handful of Pathway abilities on screen at once, which is exactly what happens in the 12v12 and battle royale PvP modes, and the GPU is rendering several independent VFX sets simultaneously on top of an already-detailed environment. That's what the RTX 2060 floor and RTX 3070 Ti recommendation are paying for: not raw resolution, but sustained frame rate once several Beyonders start fighting in the same fog bank.
Because combat is manual rather than turn-based โ light and heavy attacks, dodges, and ability timing all resolve in real time โ the CPU has to track hit detection, cooldowns, and status effects for every combatant on screen at once, and it has to do it continuously rather than in discrete turns. The tabletop-style dice investigation system adds its own layer of logic checks running in parallel with movement and combat. Multiply that by a 12-player skirmish or a battle royale lobby, and the six-core minimum starts to make sense as a floor rather than a suggestion โ this is closer to the CPU load of a live-service action MMO than to the lighter turn-based logic a gacha RPG needs.
This is a persistent shared-world MMORPG, not a game where your own device resolves the fight and reports the result afterward. Positions, ability casts, and hit registration for every player in a zone or PvP match have to be synchronized with the server in something close to real time, and the confirmed PvP roster โ 3v3 and 6v6 skirmishes up to 12v12 battles and the larger Four Emperors War event โ means the netcode is built to hold up under considerably more simultaneous players than a small co-op squad. Cross-play between PC, Android, and iOS, confirmed as of the Grey Fog Test, adds another layer of synchronization the client has to handle cleanly regardless of platform.
The 32 GB figure is unusually high for a game at this stage โ high enough that it's worth flagging rather than rationalizing away. Some of it is ordinary UE5 overhead: an open, explorable city streams textures and geometry continuously rather than loading them per-level, and that streaming budget sits in memory alongside the OS, background services, and the launcher itself. But the fact that the beta's minimum and recommended RAM figures are identical is unusual โ normally a minimum tier trims something. The most likely explanation is that this is a conservative, unoptimized beta-build number rather than a final target, which lines up with the Crimson Test's lower 16 GB figure from earlier in the year. Don't be surprised if the launch minimum settles lower than 32 GB once the client is optimized.
