A seismic shift is brewing across the Wasteland. The developers behind the post-apocalyptic vehicular action game Crossout have released an extensive October 2026 devblog, unveiling far more than a routine balance patch. The game is undergoing a profound technical and competitive overhaul, marked by the complete phase-out of legacy APIs, next-gen upscaler integrations, an exhaustive rework of Clan Wars, and the long-requested tearing down of platform barriers on the Blueprint Exhibition.

The headline technical change is the official sunsetting of DirectX 11 starting with the upcoming update. As the engine moves strictly to modern graphical pipelines, players on aging graphics cards will need updated hardware and fresh drivers. In exchange, the Wasteland gains a dramatic visual upgrade: NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 arrives alongside an upgrade to AMD FSR 3.1, while the rendering engine introduces genuine volumetric fog, realistic water physics, and upgraded dynamic shadow maps. Every battlefield across the Valley has undergone visual overhauls, with foliage now dynamically bending and flattening under the heavy treads and massive tires of armored combat vehicles.

Equally transformative changes are landing in the endgame competitive scene. The legacy Clan Wars (CW) structure is being retired, fully transitioning into the battle-tested rules of "Survivor's Duel." Due to the extensive infrastructure overhaul, Clan Wars will be taken offline for maintenance between October 12 and October 19, with the inaugural revamped season kicking off on October 19, 2026. Starting MMR will be seeded directly from participants' previous Survivor's Duel placements.

The new competitive framework introduces essential meta adjustments:

  • Dual Leaderboards: Total separation between clan and personal rating ladders, with clan seasons now extended from three to 4 weeks.
  • Blueprint Counter-Picking: After dropping a round, all previously locked vehicle blueprints automatically become available again. This eliminates one-trick mirror winning streaks and provides trailing squads with tactical counter-pick leverage.
  • Clan Hierarchy Requirements: Access to competitive matches now mandates at least the Fighter role, while the Veteran rank empowers trusted officers to accept, decline, and recruit clan members.
  • Risk-Free Leviathan Uranium: The "Clan Wars: Leviathans" mode has been cleanly integrated into the progression loop. Victorious matches award uranium ore within individual caps, matchmaking calibrates against the highest personal MMR in the squad, and defeats inflict zero rating penalties on personal standing.

For builders and theorycrafters, the update finally bridges the platform divide: PC drivers can now freely inspect, test drive, and import vehicle blueprints created by console wastelanders on PlayStation and Xbox, and vice versa. Rounding out the update, the spooky season returns with the traditional Halloween event featuring the "Witch's Cauldron," alongside a fan-favorite brawl rotation including "Drones vs Lizard," "Experimental Prototypes," and "Impulse."
