Starry Studio has officially deployed Update 3.1.1 across live Once Human servers, kicking off the highly anticipated PvE scenario Isles of Abyss. Leaving the scorched badlands of mainland Nalcott behind, Metas are now cast into a sprawling oceanic archipelago featuring distinct biomes that stretch from tropical palm shores to frigid glacial waters. With this fresh 6-week seasonal cycle, Once Human fundamentally shifts its survival sandbox: instead of customizing dirt bikes and armored trucks, players must master maritime navigation, modular shipbuilding, and deep-sea salvage from scratch.
Shipbuilding, Naval Combat, and Boarding Voyagers
The centerpiece of the expansion is a robust shipyard construction suite. Survivors can architect everything from nimble reconnaissance speedboats to massive floating fortresses fitted with offshore workbenches, smelting stations, and automated fishing rigs. In Isles of Abyss, your vessel acts as a mobile territory outpost, enabling squads to survive in open waters for weeks without making landfall. However, the open sea is heavily contested: wandering hostile ships known as Voyagers actively patrol strategic trade channels.
As the scenario advances into deeper phases, solitary patrols escalate into coordinated Voyager Fleets backed by aggressive fanboats and floating naval minefields. Naval encounters demand strict role distribution: helmsmen steer clear of mine grids while gunners shatter enemy weapons batteries. Once crippled, players can execute direct hull rams and transition into tactical boarding actions, clearing hostile crews deck by deck to plunder high-tier blueprints locked away in lower holds.
Deep-Sea Diving and Bay Crocodile Husbandry
Underwater exploration has been fleshed out into a dedicated progression track. Outfitted with diving suits and oxygen tanks, Metas dive beneath the surf to scour sunken wrecks and submerged research labs for polymer composites, accompanied by coastal beachcombing mechanics. Surviving grueling maritime voyages also requires culinary preparation: specialized seafood dishes provide crucial buffs against freezing waters while boosting swimming stamina during extended salvage dives.
Base builders and creature collectors receive an apex addition to their territorial defenses: the Bay Crocodile. Armed with Tranquilizer Throwing Needles, hunters can incapacitate wild crocodiles in coastal lagoons and transport them back to base enclosures. Captured reptiles can be actively bred for hide farming or deployed as relentless guard animals, shredding intruders that dare step within your territory boundaries.
Calamity Towers and the Sunken Lord Encounter
Endgame progression culminates within chaotic Sea Calamity Zones, where navigation instruments fail and rogue waves conceal ethereal anomalies. Metas must conquer massive Calamity Towers before challenging the ocean's ultimate nightmare: the world boss known as The Sunken Lord. To counter these maritime monstrosities, developers introduced the SOCR - Cosmic Visitor assault rifle, tuned specifically for dealing burst damage against biological aberrations.
For high-risk survivalists, the scenario opens the standalone Isles of Abyss: RaidZone map, blending lucrative ocean loot with hostile player engagements. The patch is rounded out by the new Ace Under Mask Battle Pass alongside the return of three legacy Battle Passes. Update 3.1.1 proves that Starry Studio is committed to reinventing Once Human's sandbox rhythms, turning standard post-apocalyptic scavenging into an exhilarating naval epic.
