ZeniMax Online Studios has delivered a landmark update to The Elder Scrolls Online: starting October 19, 2026, the Greymoor chapter and the Wolfhunter DLC are permanently baked into the base game for all accounts. Free for every standard edition owner without requiring an ESO Plus sub, this giveaway serves as direct runway for the launch of Season Two: Echoes of Skyrim on October 21, which officially introduces dedicated Solo Dungeons to the franchise.
The headline addition for solitary theorycrafters is the ground-up solo redesign of Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices. Moving past awkward group-instance soloing, ZeniMax re-engineered both dungeon layouts for a refined single-player loop:
- Solo tuning and Companion design: mechanics originally demanding tight group coordination have been tuned for personal mitigation, while party Companions feature tailored interaction phases.
- Meted Misfortunes: players can opt into up to 3 stacking difficulty affixes at the dungeon entrance (such as Warm Welcome, which doubles incoming damage) to push runs up to the brutal Dauntless difficulty tier.
- Dedicated solo loot tables: high-tier runs reward the new Undaunted Crest currency, two brand-new 2-piece monster sets, legendary-quality Companion weaponry, and Cultivated Cryptpod alchemy reagents.
Simultaneously, tearing down the Greymoor paywall dismantles the barrier around the Antiquities system. Scrying for game-defining Mythic items—like the Oakensoul Ring, Ring of the Pale Order, or Death Dealer's Fete—is now baseline gameplay for all players. Standard account holders also gain immediate access to Western Skyrim's overland, the sprawling Blackreach caverns, and the 12-player Kyne's Aegis trial.

However, veteran players hoping for retroactive refunds will be disappointed: ZeniMax confirmed that zero Crown reimbursements, cash compensations, or exclusive legacy cosmetics will be distributed. The studio reiterated that past purchases covered years of early access and progression leads during the DLCs' prime lifecycle. Instead, all players can dive into the Echoes of Skyrim season running through January 27, 2027 to farm boosted drops and seasonal event tickets.
