Publisher Gameforge and Webzen have deployed Update 26.2, officially titled "The Legacy of Aamon", for the long-running action MMORPG Metin2. The centerpiece of this release targets veteran solo play, introducing scalable Infernal Dungeons alongside a two-tier modular socketing system for high-end gear.
The update's primary battleground is the Abyss of Greed, tailored for adventurers at level 75 and above. Gaining entry requires finishing a short introductory questline with the Taoist, a newly added artisan NPC who converts standard dungeon passes into Infernal Tickets. These tickets support affix modifiers. Cranking up run difficulty directly scales the yield of character experience, pure Yang, and raw crafting components needed to forge infernal costume sets.
Complementing the dungeon loop is the Yin-Yang Seal mechanic, dividing enchantments into conditional triggers and combat payoffs:
- Yin Seals define precise activation triggers, such as falling below critical health or taking lethal strikes;
- Yang Seals execute the corresponding effect, enabling life-saving revivals combined with instant stealth cloaking.
This dual-seal dynamic introduces overdue build variety into Metin2's notoriously punishing endgame grinding cycle.
High-tier progression across the Yohara continent has also been refreshed. Global server events, world boss spawns, and the infamous Baashido encounter have been recalibrated to scale across Yohara zones, with specialized Aura Garment cosmetics slated for deployment in subsequent weekly updates.
