Developer Mistil Games and publisher NC have officially scheduled the second major Steam playtest for their upcoming team survival shooter Time Takers. The servers will open on November 12, 2026, running for a packed 72-hour window through November 15. Public registration is already active directly on the game's Steam store page.

Instead of sprawling 100-player battle royale arenas or tedious extraction crawl sessions, Time Takers strips away unnecessary downtime. Every match drops 12 players split into 4 squads of 3 into a high-pressure combat zone. There is virtually no room for bush camping: each round is compressed into a fierce 15-minute brawl where the relentless countdown is just as lethal as enemy squads.

The core gameplay engine revolves around Time Energy. Traditional health bars have been completely abandoned: your remaining time serves simultaneously as your hit points, progression currency, and survival clock. Seconds bleed away continuously. Stalling or hiding in corners results in sudden elimination. To stay alive, squads must constantly secure kills, siphon precious seconds from fallen rivals, and spend excess time on mid-match perk upgrades. Reviving a knocked teammate requires genuine sacrifice, forcing players to donate chunks of their own life clock to bring allies back into the fight.

Following feedback gathered during the September testing phase, the November build brings substantial balance and quality-of-life revisions:

  • Reworked TTK and Gunplay: combat encounters are faster and punchier, thanks to retuned weapon damage curves and snappier player mobility.
  • Battlefield Clarity: visual ability clutter and hit registration feedback have been overhauled for clear readability in chaotic firefights.
  • Refined Matchmaking: the matchmaking architecture now factors in individual skill ratings and premade party structures to deliver balanced lobbies.
  • Traveler Identity: the playable roster features revamped talent trees and distinct combat specializations.

Players eager to jump in can secure their spot ahead of time by heading over to the Time Takers Steam page and clicking the "Request Access" button. Returning participants from the September test or the earlier closed beta will receive automatic access once the build unlocks.
