For years, pushing past level 62 or 63 in Black Desert felt like a purely symbolic endeavor reserved for hardcore grind enthusiasts chasing fractional percentages on the leaderboards. Pearl Abyss is now fundamentally redesigning that endgame formula. Scheduled for deployment during the October 8, 2026 maintenance, a comprehensive Combat Level and EXP Revamp expands the ceiling to level 75.
The overhaul recalibrates the progression curve from the ground up. Developers restructured experience requirements across all tiers, rebalancing gains from high-end monster zones, quest rewards, and passive Book of Training dummy sessions. To prevent exploitative power-leveling spikes, a dynamic cap on the maximum Combat EXP obtainable per individual monster kill has been tied directly to current character level.
Grinding past the soft cap now yields concrete offensive and defensive advantages. Achieving level 70 and beyond permanently unlocks milestone stats, including +3 Monster AP and flat Monster Damage Reduction. Crucially for alt-heavy rosters, these hard-earned milestone bonuses automatically transfer across the Character Tag system, empowering linked characters regardless of their personal level progression.
Before the patch arrives, however, players must heed an urgent administrative deadline:
- All uncollected Combat EXP sitting in the Tag Characters UI will be permanently deleted when servers go down for maintenance on October 8;
- To prevent catastrophic progression loss, players must log into their linked avatars and claim all accumulated experience before downtime begins.
The update simultaneously rolls out universal Class Common Skills alongside structural quality-of-life adjustments to the Inner Edania main questline, streamlining navigational friction across the desert chapters.
