XLGAMES and Kakao Games have officially launched ArcheAge Chronicles into Early Access on Steam. Compared to the recent Steam Next Fest demo, the launch world of Auroria has expanded by more than 20 times, while the studio also unveiled demanding PC system requirements and strict server isolation policies.
Three Vast Regions Replace the Starting Shore
While the October demo offered only a small slice of the Diamond Shores coast, the Early Access build unleashes Auroria at scale. Adventurers gain access to nearly the entirety of Diamond Shores alongside two brand-new seamless regions: the Gylden Ruins and the Astron Plains.
This spans over 60 distinct zones, complete with open-world bosses, dungeons, and more than 1,000 points of interest for harvesting and exploration. The developers intentionally pivoted away from heavily instanced progression, encouraging players to cross paths across contested fields rather than isolating themselves behind load screens.
Hardware Appetite: 32 GB RAM for 60 FPS Target
Alongside the launch, XLGAMES published the official PC system requirements, revealing a demanding bar for modern rigs. To achieve a stable 60 FPS at 1080p on High settings, the team specifically recommends 32 GB of RAM paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti (16 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT (12 GB). Notably, even this setup assumes upscaling enabled in Quality mode.
The minimum hardware baseline is similarly unforgiving:
- Intel Core i5-10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor;
- 16 GB RAM and an RTX 2060 SUPER or RX 6600 (8 GB VRAM);
- Strictly 100 GB of free space on an SSD (HDD installation is unsupported).
This minimum configuration targets just 30 FPS at 1080p on Low settings. The engine is hungry.
Family Sharing Disabled and December Roadmap
To safeguard the player-driven trading economy from exploit rings, the developers disabled Steam Family Sharing entirely. Furthermore, server transfers and cross-server matchmaking are locked throughout Early Access. Players must coordinate server choices carefully from day one. You sink or swim on your home realm.
The first major post-launch content update is slated for December 2026. It initiates the removal of gender-locked classes starting with the female Warrior, alongside introducing a third weapon archetype per class, kicking off with the Gladius sword.
