Everstone Studio and NetEase Games have officially set the global release date for the massive Hutuo update for November 13, 2026. Landing alongside the game's first anniversary, the expansion marks a dramatic pivot in tone. The poetic, scenic wandering across Jianghu makes way for an unapologetic, mud-and-steel warzone. The team backs this shift with a brand-new Dual Spears martial arts style choreographed by legendary fight director Yuen Woo-ping, paired with over $150 worth of anniversary giveaways.
Blood and Iron: The Hutuo Warzone and the Battle of Zhongdu Bridge
With the arrival of Hutuo, solitary chivalric wandering collides with the brutal realities of collapsing dynasties. The new thematic region thrusts wanderers straight onto an active frontline scarred by siege warfare and trench mud. The narrative focal point revolves around the desperate defense of Zhongdu Bridge, charging players with halting northern invaders while escorting displaced civilians to safety.
Everstone is using this backdrop to examine the martial code of "Xia" under extreme pressure, exploring what justice truly means when reigning powers disintegrate. Pushing into the contested borderlands brings encounters with punishing new open-world bosses, including the ferocious Khitan general Xiao Han and the mystic shaman Yelu Abuli, both demanding tight positioning and sharp cooldown discipline.

Dual Spears: Martial Arts Choreographed by the Mastermind Behind The Matrix
The marquee mechanical addition is the Dual Spears combat style. To capture authentic martial weight and flow, Everstone partnered with celebrated action director Yuen Woo-ping, the visionary behind the fight scenes in The Matrix and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
The moveset relies on fluid weapon swapping mid-combo. Agile light spears deliver relentless offensive flurries and crowd suppression, while heavy spears specialize in deflection windows and bone-shattering counterstrikes. It creates a dynamic rhythm for aggressive duelists who refuse to trade away defensive flexibility when facing heavy-hitting elites.

$150 Anniversary Rewards, Tactical Board Games, and Dev AMA
To celebrate the milestone, the studio is deploying serious incentives to rally the player base. Anyone logging into the Hutuo update can immediately claim 1 out of 12 premium outfits of their choice completely free of conditions, representing a 2,580 Echo Beads value. Event progression adds 42 Lingering Melodies and 27 Resonating Melodies (69 pulls in total), accompanied by five additional unlockable outfits rolling out through December.
Between battlefront skirmishes, players can unwind with new tactical diversions. The update introduces two strategic tabletop modes: Horse Racing Chess and Jianghu Tactics. The developers are also stepping into the community spotlight: question submissions run in Discord from November 3 to November 6, leading into an extensive live Dev AMA on November 10 covering future roadmaps and performance tuning.
