World vs. World is finally getting fresh battleground terrain. ArenaNet has announced an open beta for a brand-new WvW Borderlands map scheduled to go live on November 10, 2026. The studio plans to refine the layout alongside competitive guilds, treating the launch as a collaborative testing phase.
Borderlands maps have seen virtually no fresh additions since Heart of Thorns introduced the controversial Desert Borderlands. This upcoming battleground focuses heavily on combat readability. Choke points, tower lines, and supply camps are tuned specifically for large-scale blob fights and tactical havoc squads, minimizing empty travel distances between contested objectives.
The test goes live parallel to a major Skills and Balance update on November 10. Sweeping adjustments to boon distribution, crowd control, and squad sustain will force commanders to adapt their team compositions mid-siege.
The beta will run for a limited match cycle before rotating out for developer iteration based on live server telemetry.
