Project T finally has a name. Nexon announced on July 28 that its in-development MMORPG will ship as Overgeared, titled Temppal: Overgeared in Korea, with a launch window before the end of 2026 and a rare promise attached: Korea and the rest of the world get it at the same time. Graygames is the studio building it.

The licence underneath is enormous. Park Sae-nal's web novel Temppal has drawn 1.3 billion cumulative views in Korea, ranked first for popularity on Wuxiaworld, and placed fourth by total revenue across everything on Japan's Piccoma. A Redice Studio webtoon is still running and an anime is due in October, so the game lands while the franchise is at full volume.

What the novel hands Nexon is a hook the genre barely touches. Shin Young-woo has spent two years failing at the VR game Satisfy — level 80 while the ranked players sit past 200 — until a quest drops one of nine legendary classes into his lap. It does not make him a swordmaster. It makes him a blacksmith, and everything after that is about forging equipment nobody else can match. Which is the marketing line, near enough: gear is power, and whoever makes the gear stands at the top.

Past that line, the reveal is mostly packaging. A teaser site, a brand identity, a short video of swords glowing blue against a virtual-reality backdrop, new YouTube and KakaoTalk channels. Nexon's statement lists equipment-driven growth and large-scale competition and leaves it there.

Confirmed so far:

  • Developed by Graygames, published by Nexon.
  • PC and mobile, with cross-platform play between them.
  • Simultaneous Korean and global release inside 2026.
  • Progression anchored to equipment rather than character level.
  • Pricing and monetization: nothing announced.

That last line is the one worth sitting with. Graygames was incorporated in May 2023 and has never released a title, and going from an empty office to a cross-platform MMORPG in three and a half years is quick enough that something usually gets cut — normally the systems players live in after month two. Nexon says details will arrive in stages through its own channels, and a 2026 date leaves no room for another year of teaser art. When the first gameplay does show up, the questions are narrow: does enhancement carry a failure chance, does the store sell the materials for it, and does combat need hands.
