This mechanic not only adds atmosphere to the game but also lets you earn a unique currency, obtain rare trophies, and simply relax by the water. In this guide, we will cover everything: from your first fishing rod to your first legendary catch.

How to Start Your Angling Journey

You can't just cast a line into the first puddle you see at the start of the game. The fishing profession requires minimal preparation:

• Level Requirement: The fishing mechanic becomes available to characters who have reached level 23.
• Starter Quest: Once you reach the required level, head to the Trilakes location. There you need to find an NPC named Rub de Guizier. Talk to him and accept the quest "Young Angler's Course" — it will smoothly introduce you to the basics and provide your first gear.

Equipment: Rods, Baits, and Buffs

Where to get tackle and bait: You will receive your first basic fishing rod and an initial supply of bait for free upon completing the starting quest "Young Angler's Course". Moving forward, everything you need for fishing (improved rods, groundbait, and regional baits) must be purchased at the Fish Shop from NPC Fishermen (for example, the character Tadashi). Purchases are made using a special currency — Fishcoins.

You can only fish in designated areas. On the global map, they are marked with a fishhook icon, and in the world itself, there are always wooden signposts near the water (often with the word "RUFFE" on them).

Aura is divided into large areas with similar natural conditions — Fishing Grounds. Each of them is home to unique fish. The main grounds are:

• Central Region: Iris, Catalania, Quedock, Forest of Shadows, Maragorne, Taskona Valley, Trilakes, Mistgan, Elgore.
• Wolf Lands: Arcon, Wolf Pits, Worlax, Morra's Forest.
• Scorching Desert: Moonlight Oasis, Macdar, Andynopolis.

The Fishing Process: How Not to Lose Your Catch

The fishing mechanic is a small reaction-based minigame.

1. Approach the signpost near the water.
2. Use your fishing rod (by clicking on it in your inventory or pressing its hotkey on the skill panel).
3. After casting the float, the waiting phase begins. Watch the screen closely.
4. As soon as the fishing buff icon changes and an exclamation mark lights up over your character's head — act!
5. Instantly press the fishing rod button again to hook the fish.

If you press the button too early (before the exclamation mark) or are late by even a second, the fish will get off the hook, and the bait will be wasted. Train your reaction time!

Technical tip for Steam players: After you finish fishing, it is recommended to remove the fishing rod from your skill panel. Sometimes it can cause conflicts with control configurations during normal battles with monsters.

All caught fish can be turned in to special NPC fishermen (such as Tadashi). In return, they generously pour out Fishcoins for you. Tip for beginners: to quickly get your first starting capital for a good fishing rod and groundbait, be sure to complete one-time fishing quests. For example, the quest "Fish Investments" from Tadashi will instantly reward you with about 50,000 fishcoins.
